Me, Myself and She
Enough of all that drooling
crap!
I’m on hind legs – I beg
attention.
This entourage, this crowd
you pull,
I need to stand above them
all.
An also-ran will just not do –
I’m really not sweet and cute and lovely.
I’d love to say: “Her eyes shone wide
For wanting me, to have me there.”
What poppycock. What tiresome drivel.
I’d play a part in any show
As long as you’d direct me:
Tell me where to go.
“Guys can’t stay friends – it’s
always the same.”
If you weren’t my friend I’d still hate you so!
But intimacy is the name of my game
Not sex or conquest, pride or show –
That’s not me at all. I’m as
sure as I can be.
I’ll wait; be discovered; be ever so manly.
